Speech


Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh


The honorable teacher Mr. Suparni and all my beloved friends.


First of all let us thank Allah SWT for his blessing so we can gather in this room in good condition. Secondly, I’d like to thank you for the chance given to me to deliver my speech entitled The Roles of Young Generation in Keeping and Filling Independence.


On August 17th 1945 Indonesia was free of European colonialism and imperialism and proclaimed her Independence. The 45 generation had left incomparable riches to us, an independence. The most important meaning of independence is freedom, free of fear, free of showing ideas, and free to decide the fate. But, after 66 years, the true independence hasn’t been able to be enjoyed by most of Indonesian people. The full and true independence includes political, economical, social, and cultural freedom and global colonialism which break Indonesian characteristics.


The struggle of 45 generation in the past is as hard as the struggle of young generation nowadays. That hooked on the condition now that we’re in globalization and industrialization era. Science and technology development is a phenomenon where humans lose their humanity. Some humans forget their responsibility to put religion morality and humanity ethic above science and technology development. As we can see that there are many ethnic wars happen in our country.


The thought freedom of most Indonesian people is still not good enough so the cultural is still postponed behind. It is because Indonesian economy, science and technology lacks. Indonesia is actually a very rich country but it can’t increase Indonesian people because Indonesian people habit that always depend on other country and can’t bear their own thought. We need new cultures, those are the will to learn and work hard, discipline, and smart.


The aim of independence is to reach fair and rich people. As the young generation our roles in keeping and filling the independence can be done by many ways. As the students, we have to keep on studying and reach our dreams to be smart people. Besides, we have to keep the nationality by not doing bad things. What we need to do is to keep our environment and not doing students-fights, and keep the democratic life in pluralism by the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.


Have we done any of them? If haven’t let’s do it from now. Well, however, I am proud I was born as Indonesian. My last question to you is, have we really got our independence?


I think that’s all my speech. I apologize for any mistake I did in delivering this speech.

WANITA KARIR Dewi Lestari Simangunsong, yang dikenal dengan nama pena Dee, lahir di Bandung, 20 Januari 1976. Ulangan Biologi

Haa, finally ulangan biologi was done in about 40 minutes.. Soalnya lumayan menjebak, dan aku udah pasti salah satu soal T.T harusnya jawab epikotil tapi aku malah jawab hipokotil :'( tapi semoga yang lainnya ga ada yang salah ya Allah :') Udah dulu deh, hehe.. *Diupdate saat istirahat*
